'The further you probe into these things, the more clearly you find that power to-day is wielded by men who lurk in shadow' - from Lest We Regret

The purpose of this web site is:
to make available to a larger audience the books of Douglas Reed
to fill a need on the internet - there is no other site on the internet that makes these books available on-line
to draw the reader's attention to other useful material that is, either directly or indirectly, connected with Mr Reed's writings
*
Two more reasons are offered as to why we have made these titles available:
Firstly: These books were written many years ago; some are over sixty years old. It is an important fact to remember that these books were not a part of any sort of 'revisionist' movement that is often so prevalent on the internet today. However, in light of this fact, it is not uninteresting to note (the reader will soon discover for himself) that much of what Mr Reed here wrote, has, in fact, become so much of what we actually see in our current historical scene today. Perhaps this is why, when one is reading these books, the reader cannot help but feel that much of the content sounds as if it was written only yesterday.
Secondly: In connection with the above, more and more in the age in which we live, we are seeing the fruit of what Mr Reed so very often warned against - namely, the erosion of our freedoms. These books will help the reader to be appraised of the issues - where they stem from, how they are developed and maintained, and, most importantly, why all free men must seek to retain those freedoms which still remain; and also strive to appropriate once again the freedoms that have been so sorely lost.

Perhaps if Mr Reed's warnings had been heeded by a previous generation, we might not be where we are today?
Perhaps, if we heed today the advice that is still on offer in these books of yester-year, maybe our tomorrows will be brighter?
For those reader's who are unfamiliar with Mr Reed's books - it may be useful to first read 'Behind the Scene' (part 2 of Far and Wide) and 'The Grand Design'. These will prove helpful in summing up a larger part of Mr Reed's lifetime of writing.
